College Baseball: Wesleyan Sweeps Eureka in Home Doubleheader

The Iowa Wesleyan baseball team earned two wins yesterday, knocking off Eureka College 3-1 and 11-0 as they improved to 8-15.

In game one, former Mediapolis prep Cauy Massner hurled eight innings of one run ball, scattering five hits while striking out 10.

Brandon Devillier worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Former Mount Pleasant standout Corbin Broeker had two hits, while Nick Salas homered for the Tigers.

In game two, Wesleyan jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings as they rolled to victory.

Broeker again was tough at the plate for Blake Beaber’s bunch registering two hits, three runs scored and a run batted in.

Dom Gerace, Trey Sherrill, Jack de Burgh and Erik Kiewiet all had two hits for the Tigers, while Sherrill drove in a game-high six runs.

Everett Swinson threw a complete game allowing seven hits while striking out five.

Wesleyan will be off until Saturday when they host No. 5 Webster.
