College Softball: Wesleyan Drops Twinbill to Dubuque

Mount Pleasant — The Iowa Wesleyan softball team (1-6) fell in a pair of games yesterday to the University of Dubuque, 9-0 and 3-2, in a nonconference doubleheader at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.

Former Danville standout Abby Dameron took the loss in game one, striking out one hitter over two innings, yielding four runs.

Ariana Wolfard pitched the final five innings scattering five runs.

Kayla Ford and Yessenia Munoz each had hits for the Tigers who were blanked by Dubuque’s Nic Evans.

In game two, former New London star Morgan Christner was the losing pitcher, allowing seven hits and three runs — only one of which was earned — walking two and striking out seven.

Alex Eyman had two hits for the Tigers in the second game, while Kayla Ford and Adrianna Jarrett both had a run batted in.

The loss dropped Wesleyan to 1-6.

They’ll hook up with Spalding this Friday at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.

Game one on Friday will begin at 1:30 p.m.
