Day Three of the Iowa High School Boys’ Wrestling State Tournament: Isaac Thacher Looking for 3rd Place

Des Moines, IA- Day three of the Iowa High School Athletic Association boys’ wrestling state tournament is in the books and with the pool tightening up we’ll take a look at what will be happening on championship Saturday for Class 3A.

In the 152-pound weight class, the 6th seed Braylon Griffiths of Ottumwa fell to the 7th seed Jack Lewis of Bondurant-Farrar to end his run through the tournament.

Isaac Thacher of Fort Madison started his run through the 195-pound weight class consolation bracket against Kolby Gibbons of Johnston as Thacher defeated him by a 5-0 decision. Thacher then took down Evan Franke of Muscatine by fall to move on to face off against the #1 seed McCrae Hagarty of Waverly-Shell Rock with the winner moving on to the third-place match.
