Mount Pleasant Fire Department sent two engines, a command vehicle and 12 fire fighters to a report of a structure fire early Wednesday morning. When the firefighters arrived on the scene at 715 N. Broadway they found the house full of smoke and the residents all safely out. The source of the smoke was a mattress on fire in the basement. The crew was on the scene for about an hour. The fire remains under investigation.
