Iowa health officials have identified another potential public exposure connected to the ongoing measles outbreak in southern Iowa.
Anyone who visited Sunnyside Grocery at 22422 County Road 63 in Bloomfield on Saturday, August 15, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. may have been exposed to measles.
As of August 24, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services had confirmed 17 measles cases in the state during 2026, with evidence of person-to-person spread.
Previously announced exposure locations in southeast Iowa include the Pizza Ranch in Ottumwa on August 14, JR Feed and Supply in Bloomfield on August 9 and Wells Hometown Drug in Bloomfield on July 30.
Anyone who was at one of the identified locations should monitor for fever, cough, red or watery eyes, a runny nose and a rash. Those who develop symptoms should call a healthcare provider or emergency room before arriving so precautions can be taken to prevent further exposure.
People who have not been vaccinated against measles—or are uncertain about their immunity—should contact a healthcare professional or local public health agency about receiving the MMR vaccine.
