Girls’ Track: Panthers 5th at Williamsburg, Area Round-Up

KILJ — The Mount Pleasant girls’ track team finished 5th place — while winning two events — at yesterday’s monster, thirteen team invite at Williamsburg High School.

As she’s done all season thus far, Panther thrower Jadan Brumbaugh won the shot put with a mark 41’2″, besting Williamsburg senior Lauren Pope by over two feet.

Senior Karsynn Lamm was dynamite in the hurdles, as well.

Lamm ran 16.44 for first place, while her sister Kenna placed second running 17.21.

Kenna Lamm also finished fourth in the 100m dash, sprinting to a time of 13.59.

The Panther 4x100m relay team of both Lamm’s, Bailey Jalas and Josie Gilmore also finished fourth — collectively running 52.69.

Solon won the team title with 135 points, while Mid-Prairie finished second with 114 points.

Danville scored 138 points en route to a team title at the Dave Aamodt Relays in Mediapolis last night.

Cassidy Yaley was the difference maker for the Bears, winning the 800m run (2:41.82) and the 3,000m run (14:02.22).

Danville also picked up first place finishes in the 100m hurdles with Allison Dowd who ran 17.27 for first.

WACO’s Molly McLaughlin ran 17.70 in the 100m hurdles for a first place finish was the Warriors finished third in their home invite.

WACO also won the shuttle hurdle relay and 4×100 relay.
