Boys’ Track: Mount Pleasant 5th, Other Area Finishers

KILJ — Bryce Wilson glided to a first place finish in the 110m high hurdles, running 16.07 seconds as the Mount Pleasant boys’ track finished 5th at the Williamsburg Invite last night.

Will Davidson, Jack Johnson, Morgan Van Nyhuis and Bryce Wilson — comprising the Panther shuttle hurdle relay team — finished second, running a time of 1:06.28.

Cooper Pullis placed second for the Panthers in both the shot put and discus.

In the shot, Pullis threw 48 feet-11 inches while in the discus he hurled a toss of 132 feet-3 inches.

Solon won the team title with 109 points, Benton finished second with 85.

Other area results:

Mediapolis won their home invite, scoring 115 points holding off runner-up Wapello.

Solomon Zaugg paced Mediapolis’ winning the 3,200m run (10:55.58), while Bulldog football standout Anthony Isley showed out in the long jump, skyrocketing 21 feet and 1/2 inch for a first place finish.

Winfield-Mount Union had two second place finishers at Mediapolis.

Dane Sweezer ran 16.88 in the 110 high hurdles, while the Wolves 4x800m team was a runner up, finishing with a time of 9:22.32.
