Henry County Public Health and Henry County Health Center will be hosting another series of Stepping On fall prevention workshops beginning March 6th. Stepping On is a free, seven-week program designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling. Participants will learn strategies to reduce falls by increasing strength, balance, and awareness. In addition, local guest experts will provide information on exercise, vision, footwear, safety, and medications.
Stepping On will be held weekly on Thursdays from 10am-12pm beginning March 6th. Workshops will be held in the Health Education Center at Henry County Health Center. Registration is required as spots are limited. Please call Public Health at 319-385-0779 to ask questions and to register.
The aim of the program is to reduce falls, increase confidence and give people the tools to remain active, safe and independent within their community. If you are unable to attend this spring workshop series, Public Health can still add you to a waiting list for the next time these workshops are offered.
