Men’s College Basketball: Iowa Wesleyan Upsets Webster

St. Louis (MO.) — Jarryd Fernandes poured in 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Iowa Wesleyan men’s basketball team picked up a clutch 88-70 win last night at Webster University in the first round of the SLIAC Conference Tournament.

The Tigers jumped out to a 43-29 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Carver Locked finished with 15 points and three dimes, while Shawn Lafrance added 12 points and six boards.

Former New London prep Alex Dentlinger chipped in with 11 points, while Kaleb Cresswell — a Fort Madison alum — ended the night with 10 points, as five Tigers found double figures.

Next, Wesleyan will travel to Carlinville, Illinois for a battle with top-seeded Blackburn in the SLIAC Semifinals.

Tip tomorrow is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
