The Fairfield Police Department is currently investigating a series of thefts involving political signs across various neighborhoods in Fairfield. Over the past several weeks, many residents have reported the unauthorized removal of campaign signs supporting multiple candidates and political parties.
We take these incidents seriously as they undermine the democratic process and the rights of individuals to express their political opinions. We urge the community to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying those responsible.
The thefts have occurred during both the day and at night. FPD is encouraging anyone who witnesses suspicious behavior or has relevant information to contact the police department.
Residents are also reminded that the theft of political signs is not only unethical but also illegal. Offenders can face criminal charges, including theft and vandalism.
To report any thefts or suspicious activity, please contact the Jefferson County Law Center at (641) 472-4146.
