KILJ — It’s a huge day in track for the state with state qualifying meets taking the ovals.
All state qualifying meets are co-ed and set to begin today at 4:00 p.m..
Qualifiers will advance to the 2022 Iowa High School State Track & Field Championships, currently scheduled for May 19-21 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Area teams in Class 1A will travel to Sigourney.
Programs there include:
- Danville
- New London
- WACO
- Wapello
- Winfield-Mount Union
In Class 2A, area teams will compete at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
Featured there will be:
- Central Lee
- Mediapolis
- Van Buren County
Mount Pleasant will be a host toady, with the Panthers welcoming in Davenport Assumption, Clear Creek-Amana, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Washington and West Burlington-Notre Dame.
