High School Volleyball

The Mount Pleasant Panthers fell to the Oskaloosa Indians last night in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-17. Oskaloosa will play North Scott next Tuesday for the Regional Championship. Mt. Pleasant struggled early dealing with Oskaloosa’s serving ability but as Coach Streeter said after the game, his team was able to get the hang of it as the game went on. With the loss, the Panther volleyball season is over.

The WACO Warriors will play Holy Trinity Catholic Monday, October 24th, at Holy Trinity Catholic at 7 pm. The Crusaders did beat WACO earlier in the year 2 sets to 1 with Mary Kate Bendlage tallying 12 kills in the match.

New London will be at home to play Belle Plaine at 7 pm with Jeff Broeg on the call on KILJ 98.5 FM next Monday.

Winfield-Mt. Union will play Burlington Notre Dame as they will host the game at 7 pm next Monday with KILJ on the call with pregame at 6:45.

High School Football

The first round of the playoffs for 8-man football starts tonight with WACO hosting Martensdale-St. Marys at 7 pm. The Warriors will be leaning on Simeon Reichenbach to lead the offensive rushing attack. KILJ will be on the call with pregame to start at 6:45.

The Mount Pleasant Panthers will play their season finale against North Scott on the road at 7:30 pm.

The New London Tigers will be traveling to play Gladbrook-Reinbeck tonight for their playoff game at 7 pm.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves will play Don Bosco, who is ranked 3rd in 8-man football, to start their playoff journey tonight at 7 pm.

In Mt. Pleasant’s district, Fort Madison will be home against Burlington and Clinton will travel to play Iowa City Liberty, both games will start at 7:30 pm. Other area games, Fairfield celebrates senior night against Grinnell, Keokuk celebrates senior night against Solon, and Washington looks to send the seniors out on a win as they face off against West Burlington, all of these games scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.

Elementary Basketball Tournament

Iowa Wesleyan Athletics

The Tiger volleyball team’s next game is this afternoon, October 21st, as they start a CAC Classic against Crowley’s Ridge College at 2 pm.

The Tiger football team will be back in action tomorrow, October 22nd, as they travel to play Presentation College at 1 pm.

The women’s soccer team is 7-7 on the season and their next game will be tomorrow at Bellevue University at 5 pm.

The men’s soccer team will travel to play Graceland University tomorrow at 3 pm.
