WACO Football
The WACO Warriors cruised through their first round playoff matchup as they defeated the Martensdale-St. Marys Blue Devils 57-14. The Warriors scored five touchdowns in the opening quarter in large part due to a defense that intercepted the Blue Devils five times in the game. Simeon Reichenbach had a total of four touchdowns on the day, three rushing and one receiving, with an interception on the defensive side of things. Louden Huisenga rushed for a touchdown and Ty Egli caught a touchdown pass. Isaac Oswald rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two touchdowns. They will play next Friday, October 28th, at 7 pm.

High School Volleyball
The WACO Warriors will play Holy Trinity Catholic Monday, October 24th, at Holy Trinity Catholic at 7 pm. The Crusaders did beat WACO earlier in the year 2 sets to 1 with Mary Kate Bendlage tallying 12 kills in the match.
New London will be at home to play Belle Plaine at 7 pm with Jeff Broeg on the call on KILJ 98.5 FM next Monday.
Winfield-Mt. Union will play Burlington Notre Dame as they will host the game at 7 pm next Monday with KILJ on the call with pregame at 6:45.
The SEC released its All-Conference teams with senior setter for Mt. Pleasant Tristian Shull being named 1st team. Senior Andrea Lopereato and Freshman Addison Clark were honorable mentions. Madison Helling, Elaina Holtkamp, Addison McGehearty, Courtney Raub, Emma Starr, Kylie Walderbach, Jersey Beachy, Jacara Ivey, Kate Schimmelpfennig, and Tristian Shull were named Academic All-SEC for Mt. Pleasant.

Iowa Wesleyan Athletics
The Tiger volleyball team defeated Crowley’s Ridge College in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-18 on Friday. However, yesterday was a different story as the Tigers fell in straight sets to Florida College and Florida National University. Their next game will be on the road as they face off against Monmouth College at 7 pm on October 26th.
The Tiger football team bounced back in a big way clobbering Presentation College 49-22 yesterday. Gavin Esquivel threw for 437 yards and 5 touchdowns with three of them going to Jaden Harris. Defensively, the Tigers had three interceptions going to Gavin DePedro, Jarius Evans, and Jakim Brock who returned his for a touchdown. The Tigers will be back at home next Saturday, October 29th, to take on Dakota State University at 1 pm.
The women’s soccer team fell to Bellevue yesterday by a score of 2-0. The Tigers offensively managed only two shots on goal. They will play Waldorf next Saturday, October 29th, at 1 pm as that will conclude their regular season.
