Lincoln Elementary is helping give used school supplies a second life while supporting children in need around the world.
The school is currently collecting gently used and leftover school supplies through May 27th. Organizers say the goal is to reduce waste while providing much-needed materials to children in areas where school supplies are difficult to obtain.
Items being accepted include broken crayons, used regular and colored pencils, old backpacks, partially used glue bottles and glue sticks, used notebooks, and other school supplies that could still benefit students.
The collection also encourages families to clean out classrooms, desks, and craft closets at the end of the school year instead of throwing supplies away. Organizers say it’s also a good opportunity to teach children about helping others and reducing waste.
Donations can be dropped off at Lincoln Elementary through tomorrow, May 27th.
