A Burlington man is facing multiple charges after authorities executed a search warrant Wednesday morning as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
According to the Burlington Police Department, officers with the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force located 58-year-old Marvin Don Ivy driving near Division and Gear in West Burlington at about 8:20 Wednesday morning. Officers knew Ivy was barred from driving and had outstanding Des Moines County warrants, and he was taken into custody.
A short time later, task force officers, assisted by several local law enforcement agencies, executed a search warrant at Ivy’s residence on Acres Street in Burlington.
During the search, authorities say they seized marijuana.
Ivy was arrested on three Des Moines County warrants for delivery of a controlled substance—cocaine, under 100 grams, Class C felonies. He also faces additional charges of driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, third offense, a Class D felony.
The Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Burlington Police Department, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, West Burlington Police Department, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
Authorities say additional arrests are anticipated.
As always, criminal charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
