A road closure is set to begin next week in Des Moines County as crews prepare for a major pavement replacement project.
County officials say Pleasant Grove Road, located just south of Mediapolis, will be closed starting Monday, June 1st. The closure will affect the section of roadway immediately east of Iowa City Road to U.S. Highway 61.
The pavement replacement project is expected to last approximately four months, meaning motorists should plan alternate routes throughout the summer and into the fall.
Des Moines County officials say the closure is necessary to complete roadway improvements and thanked residents and travelers for their patience during construction.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and follow all posted detour signs while work is underway.
